Feeling Comfortable On Camera

Our best advice to help you feel at ease in front of the camera on your wedding day.

01. DON’T OVERTHINK IT

Almost all couples express some anxiety around having their photo taken. It’s so common for us to hear things like ‘we’re camera shy’ or ‘we don’t like attention’. While we take your concerns onboard, our best advice is honestly just try not to overthink it. We get it. It’s not every day that you have all eyes on you, let alone a couple of cameras following your every move. BUT it’s also an experience like no other. You will be so busy, you will be surrounded by your friends, family & everyone you love and you will be on an absolute high. So lean into the experience and soak in the magic of your wedding day.

04. BOOK AN ENGAGEMENT SHOOT

A pre-wedding or engagement shoot is a great way to build your confidence in the lead up to your wedding day. Not only is it a good chance to practice being in front of the camera, it also provides the opportunity to build rapport with your photographer. So by the time your wedding day rolls around, you will already feel like you are old friends.

02. GIVE YOURSELF TIME TO WARM UP

Consider starting your coverage a little earlier. Extended prep coverage will give you extra time to ease into it before the ceremony. By the time you reach the photo shoot you will already be feeling much more comfortable.

03. TRUST YOUR PROFESSIONALS

We have been doing this for a long time. We are so accustomed to working with nervous couples day in and day out that we know all the tricks to try to loosen you up. Within the first few minutes of our arrival, we are already gauging your sense of humour, figuring out your best angles and assesing what approach is going to work best for your day. Rest assured that we know exactly how to make you feel comfortable and will stop at nothing to make sure that happens.
